Matters Before The Office Of Tax Appeals

The Office of Tax Appeals (OTA) is the successor to the State Board of Equalization and was established to hear tax disputes regarding taxes and fees administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) and the Franchise Tax Board (FTB).  Beginning in 2019, tax disputes involving personal income, corporate franchise and income, sales and use, excise and other taxes and fees are now decided by a three-member panel of Administrative law Judges.  The firm handles these types of hearing involving both FTB and CDTFA tax disputes and has extensive experience working with legal counsel with the FTB and CDTFA.
