A. Lavar Taylor Honored with the Richard Carpenter Excellence in Tax Award

We are proud to announce that A. Lavar Taylor has been named the 2025 Richard Carpenter Excellence in Tax Award recipient. Presented by the 10th Annual USD School of Law – RJS LAW Tax Institute, the award honors individuals in tax controversy who have shown exceptional honesty, integrity, ethics, and compassion. 

 

The institute cites Lavar’s contributions to the tax law profession which includes mentoring countless students and other legal professionals. Lavar also gives back to the community through teaching and speaking engagements, committee positions, and supporting educational initiatives. 

 

The award presentation will be held at the 10th Annual USD School of Law - RJS LAW Tax Institute luncheon on Friday, July 18th. The institute is San Diego’s leading tax event, bringing together top attorneys, CPAs, and scholars to address key tax issues including government loan relief, cross-border transactions, and practical solutions in trust, estate, and tax planning.
