Welcome Michael Shaw to the Taylor Nelson Amitrano Team
December 18, 2025
Please join us in welcoming Michael V. Shaw, the newest associate attorney at Taylor Nelson Amitrano LLP.
Michael’s practice focuses on federal and state tax controversy, and he brings valuable judicial and academic experience to the firm. Before joining the firm, Michael served as a law clerk to the Hon. Mark V. Holmes and the Hon. Kashi Way of the United States Tax Court, where he worked on complex tax disputes and assisted in drafting judicial opinions.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. While in law school, he received First Place in the Federal Bar Association’s Donald C. Alexander Tax Law Writing Competition for his work on tax-increment financing renegotiations and later published that research in The Federal Lawyer.
He remains actively involved in the Federal Bar Association’s Section of Taxation, serving as Co-Chair of Publications and a Steering Committee Member. He is also engaged with the State Bar of Arizona’s Tax Law Section Executive Council.
We’re excited to have Michael’s insight, energy, and dedication to tax controversy advocacy on our growing team.
