Jinsoo Lee and Rami Khoury, attorneys at Taylor Nelson Amitrano LLP, have been invited to participate in the California Lawyers Association D.C. Delegation beginning April 30, 2024. Jinsoo and Rami’s paper proposes the formation of a lab within the IRS dedicated to reviewing its machine learning models and data analytics algorithms, to thereby mitigate unintended discriminatory effects, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. Jinsoo and Rami will further elaborate on this topic during a presentation at the 2024 ABA Tax Section Meeting on May 3, 2024, at 1:15 PM (E.T.). This session is entitled “Tech Talk — AI for All?” and will address biases and ethical issues in AI Tools. It will also include how the rapid adoption of AI technologies, by governmental agencies and private industry, introduces complex issues, and will explore ways these tools can be improved.
